New Unity is fully independent. With no Unitarian hierarchy above it, the congregation has ultimate authority and responsibility for its own future. 

Because New Unity's future lies in the hands of its members, we take membership seriously as an important step that New Unity participants take when they feel ready to take on true congregational ownership. In addition to helping in other ways, New Unity members and friends make annual financial contributions to help sustain their community.
