This reading group meets once monthly to discuss a short extract (usually page-long) from a mystical text in either the Christian, Islamic or Jewish tradition. Texts are generally deemed mystical if they speak of a direct experience of the Divine, the One, the Numinous, the Godhead, God (or whatever other label best fits). At meetings we read through the text aloud together, and then respond to it in a spirit of open curiosity. We aim to create a space of reflection in which we can engage with the texts experientially as well as intellectually and relate the wisdom therein to our own everyday lives.
