About Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art that is rooted in Taoism, Traditional Chinese Medicine and the philosophy of yin and yang. It is described as a soft or internal system and is mainly practised for it's health and well-being benefits. Regular practise will improve your posture, balance and coordination. It also promotes relaxation by helping you let to go of stress and tension. Tai Chi is non competitive, every one learns at their own pace. The slow flowing movements of Tai Chi are a great counterbalance to the ever increasing pace of life today. Practised alongside Tai Chi is Qigong which simply means energy exercises. These self contained, easy to learn techniques are practised with mindfulness and breathing to enhance your practise

About David Talbot

David has been teaching Tai Chi for three years, mainly in Adult Education. He teaches Yang Style 24 Forms Tai Chi. He is also a Shiatsu practitioner and teacher and enjoys sharing his skills with others in a light hearted, fun and informal way.
