Bright Lights is our weekly session for children, held at Newington Green during our 11am Sunday Gathering. It provides a time for families to be part of the life of New Unity, with activities (arts & crafts, stories, music & movement) that speak to children. Children begin their time in the service. After a 'Time for All Ages' introduces the theme of the day, children and accompanying adults leave together for Bright Lights.

Each week, we explore different themes that help the children to make ethical decisions and discover their own way through life. Recent themes have included, 'Creation Stories from Different Traditions', 'Who We are in the World' and 'What do Animals Give Us?'. Our approach is non-dogmatic, encouraging the children to find their own answers, and discuss the issues with their peers.

Emergency contact details

It is imperative that we keep contact information for parents/guardians on file in case of emergency. At present, however, we currently do not have emergency contact details for some of the children who attend Bright Lights.

From now on, the Children's Programme Manager will be asking all families to fill out a short form which has space for an emergency contact name and number. This will need to be filled out by families before their children participate in the session.

Thanks for your co-operation.
