Children’s Programme Leaders

The Children’s Programme Leaders support the Children’s Programme Manager to lead and further develop New Unity’s programme to develop confident, thoughtful, justice-seeking children and young people.

Availability on Sunday mornings is essential, and there is a 10.30am/10.45am start. We have a lovely group of well-behaved, enthusiastic children.

Position

The positions available are 2-3 hours per week. Pay is £12 per hour. The role involves:

  • Curriculum and other planning

  • Supporting group leaders

  • Connection with parents and children

  • Growing the programme

  • Creating and supporting events

  • Safeguarding

Skills and experience

We are looking for proactive, creative, Programme Leaders with great communication and interpersonal skills who are passionate about working with children and young people,  understand child learning and development and who have proven experience:

  • Working with children in an educational or enrichment setting

  • Storytelling

  • Working with curricula

  • Creating events

The Children’s Programme Volunteers support the Children’s Programme Manager and group leaders and further develop New Unity’s programme to develop confident, thoughtful, justice-seeking children and young people.

We are looking for proactive, creative, Programme Volunteers with great communication and interpersonal skills who are passionate about working with children and young people,  understand child learning and development and who have proven experience:

  • Working with children in an educational or enrichment setting

  • Working with curricula

  • Creating events

  • Are over 18 years of age

Application/information

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis. Start date is flexible. The role is unpaid, but successful candidates will receive a DBS check and a reference following completion of a period of six months volunteering with us.
