Rape Culture Workshop

This is training session responds to a series of urgent questions around how and why rape culture remains so prevalent and how we can break cycles of patriarchal oppression. Laura Barker leads a day of activities and discussion to get us to think about:

What is rape and sexual assault?
What do we gain by helping to cover up rape and sexual assault?
What do we do to encourage rape and sexual assault?
How do we resist rape and sexual assault?
What can we do to combat rape and sexual assault?
What role, if any, do people who have committed rape and sexual assault have in our communities?

This workshop will not be a space for graphic descriptions of rape and sexual assault and disclosures, but some people might find the material distressing. We will talk at the beginning about how to best handle this so that everyone feels as safe and cared for as possible.

For ages 18+
