To dissent is to disagree with commonly held beliefs, a stance comedians sometimes find themselves taking as they observe, question and comment on matters from politics and current affairs to the everyday and the banal.
Join your host, Chloe Petts, as she leads you through an evening of stand-up comedy held in the heart of Newington Green, home of Dissenters such as Richard Price, Mary Wollstonecraft and Anna Laetitia Barbauld who were seen as radical thinkers in the their time, pushing against the norm to advocate for causes they held dear from equality to social justice.

This bunch of comics may model themselves on the famous dissenters of the past and go against the norm but will they succeed? Will they make you think? Will they push your buttons and make you sit up? Or will they be "vanilla", "sensitive" and "millennial".
Watch them and judge for yourself; some will succeed, some will fail but at least they tried!
