At New Unity, we aim to inspire children and young people of all backgrounds to discover their own way through life – and, as the next generation of decision-makers, to make decisions which promote a more loving and just world.

Our Children and Young People’s Programme focuses on a weekly session for children, held at the Newington Green Meeting House during our 11am Sunday Gathering - or on Zoom. There are also periodic excursions to parks and elsewhere.

It provides a time for families to be part of the life of New Unity, with activities (arts & crafts, stories, music & movement) that speak to children.

Each week, we explore different themes that help the children to make ethical decisions and discover their own way through life. Past themes have included “Creation Stories from Different Traditions”, “Who We are in the World” and “What do Animals Give Us?”. Our approach is non-dogmatic, encouraging the children to find their own answers, and discuss the issues with their peers.

The programme is run by a Young People’s Programme Manager.

Emergency contact details

It is imperative that we keep contact information for parents/guardians on file in case of emergency. At present, however, we currently do not have emergency contact details for some of the children who attend.

From now on, the Children's Programme Manager will be asking all families to fill out a short form which has space for an emergency contact name and number. This will need to be filled out by families before their children participate in the session.

Thanks for your co-operation.
