Our historic building on Upper Street has played host to a number of weddings, parties, concerts, conferences and other events over the years.

As a UK registered charity, we re-invest our income from renting out our space into our charitable work and operations.

The space is large, and as a result social distancing is possible.

Overview

Two well-presented, versatile halls in the heart of Islington's Upper St. Available weekdays and weekends, daytime and evening.

Address: 277A Upper St, London N1 2TZ. (Next to Islington Fire Station.) The venue is at the end of a passageway off Upper St, shielding it from the street's noise and bustle.

Getting here: Equidistant between Angel (Northern Line), Essex Rd (National Rail) and Highbury & Islington (Victoria Line & London Overground). Buses 4, 19, 30, 43.

Large Hall

Character: A bright, airy hall with wooden floors and numerous skylights. A versatile space that easily adapts to different types of event.

Capacity: Comfortably accommodates up to 120 people.

Event types: Wedding reception, birthday party, conference, corporate event, lecture, training, rehearsal, performance, class, movie screening.

Small Hall

Character: An airy, versatile room with a wooden floor and large skylight.

Capacity: Comfortably accommodates up to 20 people.

Event types: Training, workshops, rehearsals, community meetings and gatherings. Also serves as a breakout room or overflow room for the Main Hall, as part of a large event booking.

Dimensions: Length 9.4m; width 4.7m.

Whole venue

Hold your birthday party, wedding reception and other large events at our New Unity Upper Street Islington Venue!

Our venue is perfectly placed for wedding ceremonies due to its proximity to Islington Town Hall and Register Office on Upper Street. And its great transport links make it a fantastic space for large events. The adaptable and atmospheric Large Hall is ideal for small to medium-size wedding receptions (for up to 120-150 guests depending on the configuration). The hall has a unique character and features high ceilings, skylights and a stage.

The venue offers numerous set-up possibilities. You have the freedom to arrange your own catering and drinks if you wish. Wedding parties can dress the hall with flowers, candles and fabric and, in our experience, the result is lovely.

Though this venue is ideal for weddings, other events can also be held here, for example large-scale conferences and meetings, as well as team away days.

(Please note that the day rate does not include cleaning and the stewarding or security guard fee.)
