This beautiful and historic Grade-II listed building was constructed in 1708, and is known as one of the birthplaces of modern Western feminism due to its connections to activist and writer Mary Wollstonecraft.

Weddings

Newington Green Meeting House provides a welcoming, historic setting, and New Unity offers services conducted in accordance with our principles of radical inclusivity, Dissent, justice and compassion. We were the first religious establishment in Britain to refuse to marry any couples until we could marry all couples. We offer wedding services for people from all walks of life, including same-sex and interfaith couples.

We are able to provide wedding ceremonies, civil partnerships, and wedding blessings for mixed-sex and same-sex couples. A marriage blessing is a non-official ceremony without legal registration, acknowledging the commitment already made between the couple during a civil ceremony.

To discuss wedding packages and pricing, please contact rental@new-unity.org.

What we ask of you

All playing of music and serving of alcohol must stop at midnight (00:00). All setting up, clearing away and tidying must be included in your hire times, and we ask that you leave promptly. Please leave the venue as you found it. Our cleaning fees pay for a next-day refresh of our venue, not a deep clean. They are non-negotiable, and listed in full above.

Please feel free to contact rental@new-unity.org to arrange a site visit.
