Sunday Gathering: ‘Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People?’

‘Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People?’

Adam Slate, Minister-elect

Part of being human is experiencing loss and suffering due to both human-driven and natural causes. Often these tragedies are visited upon people in ways that seem unfair or unwarranted, from illness to natural disaster to military aggression. How do people who believe in an ethical order to human existence, or a Divine presence, or that the moral arc of the universe bends toward justice reconcile these kinds of devastating events?

Attend either online or in person at the Newington Green Meeting House, 39a Newington Green, London, N16 9PR (fully accessible). Go here for more information and the Zoom link, and here for directions to the Meeting House.

There’s no Kids’ Club this week, as the group is on summer break. Children and young people are welcome in the chapel.
