'The Case for Compassion'
Adam Slate, Minister-elect
In the public arena, compassion has been woefully lacking in engagement across groups that disagree, shutting down productive debate and raising the level of hostile rhetoric. Yet even within groups aligned around a cause or committed to being in community, we constantly have opportunities to choose to have compassion for each other’s needs and priorities… or not. How can we nurture compassion in ourselves for the challenging task of being human?
Kids will join in the sanctuary and leave for their programme after the opening welcome and first hymn.
