Sunday Gathering: 'What Does It Mean to Be Revolutionary?’

What Does It Mean to Be Revolutionary?

Rev Adam Slate

The New Unity website describes the Meeting House as being ‘a hotbed of… revolutionary ideas since 1708.’ In fact, our non-subscribing congregation merged from two non-subscribing churches that formed in 1667 and 1672, and their founders were active in local dissenting groups even before that. But what does this legacy of revolutionary ideas mean for us today? What issues would Rev Richard Price or Mary Wollstonecraft be championing in 2026? And most importantly, what work are we prepared to do if we are truly interested in continuing this revolutionary tradition?

No Kids Club this week. All ages will join the gathering in the sanctuary.

Attend either online or in person at the Newington Green Meeting House, 39a Newington Green, London, N16 9PR (fully accessible). Go here for more information and the Zoom link, and here for directions to the Meeting House.
