'Why Rome Is Always Afraid' - Rev Adam Slate
In the Easter story, the most powerful empire in the world crucifies an itinerant preacher — afraid of the grassroots movement gathering around him. On this Easter Sunday, we trace that same fear from the streets of ancient Jerusalem to our own streets, from the biblical crucifixion to the vilification of young activists like Greta Thunberg and the crackdown on peaceful protest.
There is no Kids Club this week; all ages will join the gathering in the chapel.
Attend either online or in person at the Newington Green Meeting House, 39a Newington Green, London, N16 9PR (fully accessible). Go here for more information and the Zoom link, and here for directions to the Meeting House.
