Location: Mary Wollstonecraft room, Newington Green Meeting House, N16 9PR
This Sunday, 26th October: the theme is transforming our world. We’ll look at things we want to change. We'll do some arts and crafts on this topic.
Join us in the Meeting House at 11.00am to hear warm words of welcome, greet our neighbours and to sing together before leaving for Kids’ Club at 11.20am in the Mary Wollstonecraft room.
At New Unity, we aim to inspire children and young people of all backgrounds to discover their own way through life – and, as the next generation of decision-makers, to make decisions which promote a more loving and just world. Each event has a theme, and is linked to the main Sunday gathering: it happens at the same time, and the children begin their time in the gathering before going upstairs with our staff.
Our Children and Young People’s Programme focuses on a weekly session for children, held at the Newington Green Meeting House during our 11am Sunday Gathering. There are also periodic excursions to parks and elsewhere.
It provides a time for families to be part of the life of New Unity, with activities (arts & crafts, stories, music & movement) that speak to children.
Each week, we explore different themes that help the children to make ethical decisions and discover their own way through life. Past themes have included “Creation Stories from Different Traditions”, “Who We are in the World” and “What do Animals Give Us?”. Our approach is non-dogmatic, encouraging the children to find their own answers, and discuss the issues with their peers.
The programme is run by a Young People’s Programme Manager, Jacky Clarke. Contact her here.
